UNA-Cheltenham

Margaret Anstee The Cheltenham Branch of the United Nations Association of the United Kingdom aims to promote public awareness of the principles and ideals of The United Nations Charter and to foster international understanding. Its members and committee do this by organising several public meetings throughout the year, at which speakers from both UN agencies and related organisations are invited to talk on their topics of expertise, which often include issues of a highly topical interest.

UNA Youth in Cheltenham

In September 2005, some of our members promoted the UNA at the University of Gloucestershire (UoG) Fresher's Fayre. This resulted in the formation of a student youth group in November 2005. UoG United Nations Association (UoG-UNA) now has a strong committee that includes university students representative of several different nations. Although the Youth Group exist 'autonomously' we maintain very strong links with them and keep one another informed of our intended programmes. We strongly encourage the attendance of any young people at the UNA Cheltenham branch meetings.
