Cheltenham Autumn Program 2011

The following Events are Run by the Cheltenham Branch of The UNA. All events are public. Members/non-members are welcome to join.

  • October 4th (Tuesday)
    United Nations Association – Cheltenham Branch and the MidCounties Co-operative welcomes everyone to a talk by: Michael Pickering, Social Responsibility Manager at the Midcounties Co-operative, on ‘The Midcounties Co-operative – Defending the Environment’

    6.15pm - drinks
    7.00pm - Mayor's welcome address followed by short business meeting
    7.30pm Matt Pickering

  • “Social Responsibility” is one of the key values of the Co-operative Movement. Within this principle, the Social Responsibility statement outlines the commitment of the Midcounties Co-operative to support the community in a sustainable way. Mike Pickering will describe the achievements so far and the targets set for the future. He will refer to the UN Conference on Climate Change in Copenhagen and the support of his members for The Wave, the huge march that took place in London last year to urge governments to take drastic action to protect the environment.
